Flag Football

Brady played his first year of flag football and had a blast, Chas helped coach and was in heaven I am sure, football being his first love and all. Grandpa and Grandma were here to watch his very last games, glad they could see him play. Of course I don't have many pictures, but I have decided that Beckett may be the only kid that will have lots of pictures, mainly because he will be playing and I won't have to chase him off the field because he will actually be old enough to play!

Gwilliam's Bakery

My Mom and Dad came down for a visit at the end of October. As always it was so fun to have them here and sad to see them go. Since we have some family history over in the Baker area, we drove over there one day to go to the old "Gwilliam Bakery" as we had heard they still have some memorabilia on the walls there. It is now a pub, but they let us in to look at the cool things they have hanging up in there. We had a fun time listening to Dad tell us all about the bakery and who are in the pictures.

The Nunns

We got to stay at my cousins house in Ranchester, WY. They have a great place and we had a nice relaxing visit with them. I haven't seen them for awhile and it was great catch up. Les lived in the same town as I did growing up so it was nice to visit with him again.
And of course if there are horses around...

Beckett went missing for a couple of minutes, (I know you are all surprised!) anyway we found him way out in the horse pasture trying to "catch" the horses wearing Chas' boots, the kid keeps us running!

The hot and cold lake

At the end of our day in Yellowstone, we headed toward the east gate to take off to my cousin Les' house to stay the night, little did we know, but the gate didn't open till 8pm, yes pm, because of avalanche danger, it is safer to drive through when it is below freezing. So we got to spend about 2 hours here at this lake, before the gate opened. It actually was very cool, it is frozen across the whole thing except for about 1foot all the way around the outside edge where the water is like a hot tub. The kids kept asking if they could get in because it was so warm. It was the weirdest thing, but something to do with the underground weirdness sp? of Yellowstone, this lake is hot on the outer edge and the rest is covered with ice. Pretty cool, eh?

There were a couple very friendly bull buffalo that came wandering down to say hi, they got really close and so we decided to go into the car. The funniest thing happened though, there were these two spanish ladies who decided to walk up the road aways just to stretch their legs, they came running back yelling in spanish that the "buffalo were chasing them" according to Chas' translation. We see them running down the hill and the buffalo casually strolling behind them, we had a good laugh!

Yellowstone Part 3

Chas found this cool tree and we wanted a picture with all of us.
Walking along the board walk, it was the perfect temperature for all of our hiking, but the kids kept complaining about the smell. (rotten eggs)

Yellowstone part 2

The pictures of the geysers just don't do them justice, the hot pools were so awesome not to mention so beautiful! Just look at that blue color! Beckett kept trying to jump off the boardwalks, I wouldn't recommend taking a 2 year old to Yellowstone, but hey we got our exercise!

The landscape is just amazing, the world really is such a cool place. It's almost surreal when you go there, it is like nowhere you have ever been. Definitely a place we want to go back too and spend some more time hiking around and visiting all of the cool sites.
You can see Brady trying to keep Beckett from climbing through the railing, haha!!! Brooklyn was fascinated by the science behind the geysers and how they worked and all of that, it was a very educational trip!

Yellowstone Part 1

Well I was so excited to be able to try and start getting caught up on our blog tonight while the kids are in bed and Chas is playing ball, but alas blogger is taking FOREVER to upload pictures so instead of sitting here waiting for pictures to upload I am going to go and do something that will not drive me crazy at 9:30 at night. But here are a few of the beginning of our awesome trip that we took at the beginning of the summer.
This is the afternoon that we left, everyone was soooo excited!

We got to stop in Rexburg and stay at some good friends of ours, the Freemans in Rexburg, we had a great visit and they cooked us an awesome breakfast!
Then we got to our first tourist stop, Yellowstone! The kids LOVED it, I think it was their favorite part of the trip. Beckett couldn't stop talking about all the buffalo and everytime we saw another one he would get just as excited as the first time, he was hilarious. There is something so wonderful about how excited kids get that makes everyone else feel excited too!
We got to see the buffalo swim across this lake, which was awesome! There were some huge splashes and it was great to see them swim across.

SAAWWWEEEETTTT deal!

I have been thinking about getting tekids one of these for a long time, but they are kind of expensive, so to my delight when we went in to the Habitat fo Humanity store the other day this baby was sitting in the front. You want to know whats even better? I asked how much, she said $40, you heard it $40 and it even works!! like a charm!! So excited, wish I could have got the kids reaction on camera! I LOVE a good deal. My Aunt always says when you find a good deal it is a blessing for paying your tithing, good way to look at it!! and to recognize our blessings! The kids have been on it non stop and loving it!!!

Hiking on Mt. Emily

So when I find my camera that we bought 2 days before our trip I promise to update the blog. Today, since I couldn't find the camera so we have no pictures anyway, we went hiking up on Mt Emily. I love that it is so close. And I LOVE that Beckett and Brady can run and throw and hit anything and everything they feel like. Beckett carried around huge branches and hit other trees with them. He even walked almost the whole way. He did fall and got a cut on his leg which was bleeding, but the only one it seemed to bother was Emree, who was distraught sp? when she found out there was blood, and wanted to make sure he was ok. After our hike we stopped and the kids played in the creek for awhile, it was a great morning. Makes me wonder why I don't do things like that more often, it takes 10 minutes to drive up there and we were only gone for 2 hours total, hmmmm maybe we should do it everyday, then maybe the boys would stop using the girls for their punching bags..... food for thought.

Garden

Well we got a lot of help this year with our garden... as you can tell most of it was from Brady, who would much rather swing in the tree And Beckett who has the watering down pat...

Then there are those of us who do all the work,

like Brooklyn. When she wants to be she is a darn good little worker. She (they) are saving up money for, well it started out to be for a Wii, but I changed their minds to get a puppy and they might just keep on saving till they have enough for a pony, she (they) have like 150 saved up and Chas said he would match whatever they have, so by the time we move out of town, they will have enough for a pony. Now just to convince Chas to pay for hay...

Chas and Verl hard at work, these tomato thingy's worked awesome!!

And I am the boss, ohhhh but it's gonna look so purty!

Brady's birthday

Man I love this little boy, although he is not so little anymore. With both of my older kids there has been one day when I have realized that they are getting bigger and for some reason it has been one day when I am holding their hand and walking to school, all of a sudden their little hands are not so little anymore and they feel just a bit different than they used to. It is a sad day, but exciting at the same time. And here I am writing this late at night and bawling because they are growing so fast.
Here are some fun things about Brady:
1.He likes to know what is on the schedule of things to do that day, everyday, he wakes up and asks, "Mom what are we gonna do today?"
2. He is the PICKIEST eater! He won't eat hardly any vegetables at all.
3. He loves to play ball nd wants to be like his Dad, this morning the first thing he asked me was, "Mom what was Dad's baseball team name?"
4. He tells everyone he is named after TomBrady the football player. (Which is not true although that is how I convinced Chas it wasn't a bad name.)
5. And he tells everyone that Beckett is named after Josh Beckett and looks at them like they are dumb if they don't know who that is...... you know the baseball player who playsfo the Red Sox? Ya, he had to fill me in on that one too.
6. He doesn't like to sing, and definitely won't if you ask him too.
7. He LOVES to leave notes around for people to find
8. He ALWAYS says thank you for dinner, he never forgets, which is funny considering #2, so he doesn't usually eat a lot of it!!
ANyway we love you Brady!

May-Visit from the Hutchins and Father- Son outing

These are totally out of order, oh well I am too tired to try an figure out how to chang them around. But here are some pictures took at the Father Son outing. They had a great time, I am glad the Mother Daughter is later in the year, I'll do camping without snow thank you!

May was a fun month. It started off with a visit from Chas' parents they are always so good to help with projects when they come. We had a great visit with them and wished they lived closer. We are soooo excited to see them again in a couple of weeks. Then of course is the long awaited Father-Son outing... Brady waiting in the car for Dad,

and then there is Beckett also waiting...

Before the boys left we let Brady open one of his birthday presents early so he could take it with them on their campout and try it out. Sling shot, thanks UncleThomas for introducing this to Brady! He LOVES it!

The two younger ones and I went with Brady and his class on a field trip to the library, we had a fun walk and even got to stop in at Chas' office to say hi.

Here is Chas and his Dad working on siding the shed and Dixie and I are (of course) working hard in the background!

Baseball

Well I have LOVED watching the kids play baseball this year, they are getting old enough where it is fun to watch them. They have improved a lot and I love that they love to play. Brady practices ALL the time, if he is outside he is throwing the ball on the roof and then trying to hit it or catch it. We have outgrown our backyard, as they can now hit it over the fence and into the neighbors backyard, time to move out of town I guess!

Happy Birthday!!!

My Mom and sisters are putting together a book for my grandma's 90th birthday which is today, hence all of the family photos that have randomly been put on here. Happy Birthday grandma!!! We love you!!!

Brady's Presentation

Brady had to do a presentation at school about a Giant Animal of his choice he choose the Rhinoceros, he did a pretty good job, I thought. He was a bit nervous, but did great!

More haircuts and a present

I got Chas and I some tickets to go down to a BYU game for our anniversary this year, here he is opening the gift! Yep folks, that is about as much enthusiasm as you get around here!
My Mom calls these the Hutchins haircuts, must be that time of year again! Everyone is sick of the long hair, and warmer days are coming......hopefully! He has the blondest hair!! Looks a lot like Chas' baby pictures.
Look at that shaggy boy!! Oh and did I mention that this kid HATES haircuts, oh yes!!! IT's a screaming, fighting, squeezing his head again my chest, good time around here, just ask my poor visiting teachers who came in the middle of one. So from now on when we do them, it's gonna be short so I don't have to do it again for as long as I can put it off!

Random pictures

Here is Brooklyn before we cut her beautiful long locks, it is not too short, but we did chop a couple of inches off.Emree being goofy

Nice tongue there buddy. He loves to stick it out, especially when he is concentrating.
Brady doing a mohawk, his hair was really long.
Lost tooth, loose teeth are so gross.

Brooklyn or Emree?

Brooklyn or Emree?
Just thought you all might like to see how much Brooklyn and Emree look alike, its kind of scary actually! Especially that Emree wears all the clothes that Brooklyn used to wear, I better make sure I get the right name to the right picture in the scrapbooks...well photo albums anyway. This is Brooklyn when she was 10 months old!

My Pride and Joy!

My Pride and Joy!
Next to my kids this is my pride and joy, I love working in the garden! Chas likes it too, he doesn't have to weed! Actually he always takes care of the kids while I spend time there. It's so nice!

Funny Story 1

Well I haveto share this funny story about Brooklyn. There is a little girl in our primary who got her appendix out shortly after she was baptized and showed Brooklyn her scar, so here is Brooklyn's conversation with me the other day. Brooklyn: "Mom I don't think I want to get baptized." Me: "Why not?" Brook: "It's too scary." And I'm thinking she loves the water, what is the problem? Me: "Whats scary about it?" Brook: "I don't want to go to the hospital and be cut open after I am baptized." I started laughing!!! "You think everyone has to be cut open after they get baptized?" Brook: yes, Jenny did and she even showed me her scar. So I had to explain to her that that was not part of getting baptized, it just happened that it was close to the same time with Jenny. I thought it was so hilarious, you never know what your kids are actually thinking!!

What a handsome boy!
