Stake Conference

We had a wonderful weekend of stake conference!! Elder Martino of the 70 came to our stake and taught us well, we are all filled! A couple of weeks ago Pres. Kevan called and asked if our family would do an on-stage interview with Elder Martino for the Saturday night session.  We were all nervous, especially the younger kids, they were worried they wouldn't know the answers to his questions.  It was a great session, I got called right before the meeting started to play the organ, which was a little nerve wracking, but it's kind of nice when you don't have time to get nervous about it!  He asked us questions about FHE, family scripture study and family prayer.  The kids did great and I know they felt the spirit while visiting with him.  Afterward in the car while going to McDonald's for ice cream, we had to resort to bribery with Carson as it was 830 at night, Beckett says, "Mom I felt good when we were talking to Elder Martino."  I told him that was the spirit testifying to him that he was a servant of God.  He says, "Ya it made me feel great!" Then we all got to talking about how the spirit makes us feel, and he goes on, "Mom I know when you feel the spirit cause you always cry." Emree says, "Ya mom you made me almost cry too, cause that's how I feel the spirit."  It was so nice to be able to talk to the kids about feeling the spirit and that they can recognize it so young, what a choice generation of children we have to raise!  It makes all the hard days worth it, when you hear them talking about how they feel the spirit, because not only do they feel it, but they are learning how to recognize it!

Brooklyn or Emree?

Brooklyn or Emree?
Just thought you all might like to see how much Brooklyn and Emree look alike, its kind of scary actually! Especially that Emree wears all the clothes that Brooklyn used to wear, I better make sure I get the right name to the right picture in the scrapbooks...well photo albums anyway. This is Brooklyn when she was 10 months old!

Next to my kids this is my pride and joy, I love working in the garden! Chas likes it too, he doesn't have to weed! Actually he always takes care of the kids while I spend time there. It's so nice!

Funny Story 1

Well I haveto share this funny story about Brooklyn. There is a little girl in our primary who got her appendix out shortly after she was baptized and showed Brooklyn her scar, so here is Brooklyn's conversation with me the other day. Brooklyn: "Mom I don't think I want to get baptized." Me: "Why not?" Brook: "It's too scary." And I'm thinking she loves the water, what is the problem? Me: "Whats scary about it?" Brook: "I don't want to go to the hospital and be cut open after I am baptized." I started laughing!!! "You think everyone has to be cut open after they get baptized?" Brook: yes, Jenny did and she even showed me her scar. So I had to explain to her that that was not part of getting baptized, it just happened that it was close to the same time with Jenny. I thought it was so hilarious, you never know what your kids are actually thinking!!
