bunch of stuff....

ok so here is my new haircut, not so new anymore though.. sorry it took so long, jeesh pictures of myself especially this close are not my favorite! Here are a couple of pictures of the kids with their oregonian cousins. I love Brooklyn and Riley in this picture, they are the best of friends!
All of the crew together: Avery, Brooklyn, Riley, Brady, Deegan
Brooklyn AFTER her first day of school. She is loving it and has finally adjusted to being gone all day long. Brady on the other hand, is still not quite used to it. He asks me like 3 times a day if its time to get her yet.

And of course I have no pictures of what else has been keeping us busy. Canning and keeping up with the garden stuff oh and getting wood have been occupying all of our time. Chas hurt himself last week and couldn't even walk so that has not been fun. I think he hurts himself about this time every year so he doesn't have to help with fall cleanup and all the harvest stuff! Anyway fall is about here I think, it has been so chilly today!!and the leaves are starting to change color, I do love fall!

Ending and Beginnings

Alas.... all good things must come to an end. My, back to before marriage, weight has been in question again and is now on its way back up. As of late my clothes have started to get a little tighter and people are beginning to ask questions, so I thought I would finally let everyone know that we are expecting Hutchins #4 at the beginning of March. So for all of you trying to figure that out, I am 16 weeks along. We are very excited, the strangest thing about it is that Emree is going to be 2 in just a couple of months. Where does the time go? We just told the kids yesterday and they were very excited. Brady said " Yes!!! Now I can have a brother!" and Brooklyn said " Does that mean you are going to get fat again?" Ya, thanks for reminding me!!! Anyway thought we would share the news.

The things kids say...

So last night after reading scriptures this was Chas and Brady's conversation
C:Brady what was Nephi supposed to build?
B: A boat.
C: How come?
B: Cause he didn't have one
C: What did they need the boat for?
B: To sit in.
Thought I was going to die laughing, he was so matter of fact about it.
Gotta love the things they say, short sweet and to the point!

Well Brooklyn and I had a fun couple of girls only hours on Saturday. We both chopped our hair, went out for lunch and did some shopping. We were bummed though, we didn't find one thing to buy! It was fun, I really think each child needs some alone time with Mom or Dad, so that is my new goal try and make sure we spend some one on one time with each of them. Also I was wondering if anyone has any ideas for me as I am going to just do preschool with Brady here at home while Emree is napping instead of sending him off somewhere, does anyone have any good websites they get fun stuff from, or any other ideas? please let me know! I will post some pictures of our haircuts, some other day as I have been outside most of the day today and haven't done my hair yet!

WARNING..... It's VERY long.....

Ya.. ya.. I know it has been a long time since I have posted anything. My friend Becky gave me a hard time about it yesterday so I thought I better get on the ball and let you know what we have been up to. I promise there is a good excuse why it's been so long, we have been BUSY!! as you will be well informed if you continue to read this whole long!!! post. My garden this year. as always keeps me from being lazy and makes me go outside even when I don't want to, like when its 100 outside! I DON'T like it that hot!
Finally got some new blinds for the patio door. They are so nice, besides giving us some privacy they help to keep the house so much cooler!
This has nothing to do with being busy, but my sister-in-law sent this shirt for Emree and I think it is adorable!!! Love it Lana, thanks!!
Making applesauce, this is definitely not for the faint of heart, holy cow!! talk about a lot of work!!
Of course the annual kids block party, the kids riding the piggy train. Brady is hiding andEmree wouldn't have anything to do with getting on it.
Brady riding around the obstacle course given directions from Mr Policeman.
Swimming lessons. Brooklyn's first day of swimming lessons they did 10 laps!!!! in the deep pool and she had never even been in the deep pool before!! I was a little nervous to say the least!! Talk about a big jump from one level to the next. I was glad she swam right by the lane divider cause she stopped to hold on to it half a dozen times. She did really good and is getting to be quite the swimmer. Brady was a nervous wreck for his first lesson. He was crying, dare I say screaming, cause he didn't want to get in the pool. I talked, coerced, bribed, yelled pretty much anything I could think of to get him into the water. Finally with like 10 minutes left he finally got in. After class he was all grins and said, "Do I get to come back tomorrow?" Don't ask me what his problem is!! Frustrating though! That's how he is with anything new, has a fit until you make him try it and then he loves it, crazy kid!
Emree watching swimming, she did really good considering we were at the pool everyday for 1 hour for 2 weeks, she was a trooper.

Good thing Emree wasn't in swimming lesson, here is her normal reaction to our pool!
This is much more her cup of tea! Relaxing in the sunshine.
This was the greatest 30 dollar investment ever! The kids have played for hours out here and have had so much fun. Chas has went in a couple of times and believe it or not I even got in, (once.)

Of course what would summer be without wood hauling. This time we ventured out by ourselves to see if we could get a load without any help. Never will we attempt this again! We usually go with friends of ours and fill our trucks, which is nice the kids keep each other entertained and there are four adults to help get the wood, not one to watch the kids and one to do all the work! It took us six hours, one split open head wound, lots of crying and whining and we were finally done! talk about a days work!

We were all soooo tired by the end of the day. Here are the girls sleeping on the way home.

And last but not least SOCCER! Brooklyn had so much fun playing this year and was leaps and bounds better than last year. I coached her team and had a great time! We lost one game all season and loved every minute of it. Brady even got in on the action for 1 minute, he is excited to be able to play next year for real!

Montana!

We had way too much fun in Montana with all of my family! I got to see tons of cousins that I haven't seen in way too long!! There were so many people there the kids had lots of fun playing with so many cousins. I am just sad I didn't take more pictures! I will have to get some from somebody. We played all kinds of games, swam, ate, swam some more and got very little sleep. One of the highlights of the reunion was my Uncle Buck doing his famous waterskiing stunts. I will give you a run down: Uncle Buck is a cowboy through and through and 18 years ago when we were in Montana for a reunion he went waterskiing in his wranglers and belt buckle, so now 18 years later, we convinced him to do it again, mind you he is now 18 years older that his 40 something age then. Anyway it was a hoot, we have it on the video camera and as soon as I figure out how to get it on here I will give you a glimpse of our America's funniest home video!!! Can I say hilarious! Not everyday do you see a guy in wranglers and a belt buckle waterskiing, he even put the rope in his teeth and around his neck for even more entertainment. he is Crazy!!!! We had a lot of fun and can't wait for the next one in 3 years!

Brooklyn is up to something fishy, just glad it wasn't geared towards me!

Watch this mom!!
GOTCHA!!!
Chas going on the tube behind the sea doo, Chas loves this kind of stuff!
Jumping off the BLOB!
Brooklyn loved the little kayaks that they had, she spent almost all the swimming time paddling around on one of these!
Grandma and Addisyn
Emree and Addy playing in the rocks
Brady loves squirt guns!

More Reunion!

All of the kids playing sharks and minnows, they had so much fun together!

I thought I had better post some more pictures of our last family reunion before we head off to our next one next week in MT.
We had so much fun playing softball there is enough of us to actually get a game going. Here is Chas and his nice swing! Just something about walking shots from the back that I love especially with Dad and baby. SO CUTE!

Water slide anyone! This one looked fun, but I would prefer a little more padding for the backside!

Brady had a blast splashing everyone with his bike. He rode that thing almost non stop all week long. He is now into "jumps" and fun stuff like that!

You know you are a Hutchins when....

We came up with a list of some fun things about Chas' (our) family for our reunion. Thought some of you would kick out of them.
- You hear the 'big news' from at least 2 Family members before you hear it from your spouse.
- You antagonize a water fight
- You have Duct Tape and WD40 in your first aid kits/72 hour kits and food storage.
- Your in a hurry to get nowhere
- You can't laugh without crying
- You have to clean your car before during and after a trip
- you think 8 pieces of toast and a glass of milk constituents a full meal
- You think football is actually season of the year
- You think spring cleaning involves a buzz cut
- You think beans are its own food group
- When at a basketball game you say 'good grief' at least every other play
- If you are not 10 minutes early you are late
- You can spend hours watching and adjusting your sprinklers
- You have to check in with your sisters and sister-in-laws before 9am
- When a job that should take 10 minutes ends up taking 45
- If something looks bad you make it look good and if it looks good you make it look better
-There is no such thing as 'too green of grass'

Family Reunion

We had great time at our family reunion in Cascade, ID a couple of weeks ago. There was lots of swimming, water-fights, movies, softball and everything else you could imagine. We had so much fun and loved being with all of the family. Here are a few pictures of our trip.
Chas and I in front of the Hells Canyon lookout.

Brooklyn, Riley and Avery, the poor girls are so outnumbered its not even funny!
This would have been such a cute picture, but this face tells you exactly how Emree is!
WE went for a hike to a lake. There was quite a bit of snow up there still, and it was quite the hike!
Like Father, like Son!

thanks for the comments

ok so Chas read my last post and said it was a bit.... not so nice so I decided to delete it instead of letting everyone read my ranting on really "not that big of a deal" subject. So thanks to those of you who did comment and now I know that its not only me. Pictures still to come!

Happy CANADA DAY!!!!

To all of my Canadian family and friends, hope you have a great Canada day!

Brooklyn or Emree?

Brooklyn or Emree?
Just thought you all might like to see how much Brooklyn and Emree look alike, its kind of scary actually! Especially that Emree wears all the clothes that Brooklyn used to wear, I better make sure I get the right name to the right picture in the scrapbooks...well photo albums anyway. This is Brooklyn when she was 10 months old!

First day of School!

My Pride and Joy!

My Pride and Joy!
Next to my kids this is my pride and joy, I love working in the garden! Chas likes it too, he doesn't have to weed! Actually he always takes care of the kids while I spend time there. It's so nice!

Funny Story 1

Well I haveto share this funny story about Brooklyn. There is a little girl in our primary who got her appendix out shortly after she was baptized and showed Brooklyn her scar, so here is Brooklyn's conversation with me the other day. Brooklyn: "Mom I don't think I want to get baptized." Me: "Why not?" Brook: "It's too scary." And I'm thinking she loves the water, what is the problem? Me: "Whats scary about it?" Brook: "I don't want to go to the hospital and be cut open after I am baptized." I started laughing!!! "You think everyone has to be cut open after they get baptized?" Brook: yes, Jenny did and she even showed me her scar. So I had to explain to her that that was not part of getting baptized, it just happened that it was close to the same time with Jenny. I thought it was so hilarious, you never know what your kids are actually thinking!!

What a handsome boy!
