First Hit

So Brooklyn got her first hit off a real pitcher last Monday. Sheer Joy! She ran all the way down the first base line waving her arms and cheering!  I was so proud! Her incentive, a new bat, which she has wisely decided to get right before next season, so it will last longer. I love seeing those moments of such excitement on my kids' faces, so wish I had a camera!
Brady has started cub scouts and is loving it.  He earned his bobcat badge and is now in full swing in the wolf pack.  He is looking forward to day camp next week for 3 days and I get to go walk around for 1 of them, I hope its not too hot! Even more exciting is his baptism coming up this Saturday.  He wore a suit coat to church today and I got teary, how can my babies be growing up this fast?  He looked like such a young man! even held the door and carried my bag too, what a good kid!
I am so excited for all the family that is coming into town this weekend, should be a lot of fun!

While the parents are away, the kids will play...

Apparently this is what the kids do while Chas and I are out...at least no one was severely hurt.... this time!

Sunday Walks

Well as I said in the last post our Sunday walks have become tradition.  Chas brought his work camera home this weekend and so we actually could take some pictures.  Here is Ruby our little puppy, she is so fun and all the kids are loving her.  Emree will actually hold her now and acts like she has loved dogs her whole life.  Glad we started off with a puppy. Beckett loves her way too much and is not quite sure how careful he has to be, but she is getting faster and can now run away from him.  Smart dog! They love to play together most of the time.

And just a cute shot of Jo- Jo! Love this girl!
Beckett has become the master fit thrower, which is really trying my patience.  So Chas decided to take some pictures of his cute little crying face!!

Brooklyn's softball

We have loved watching Brookie play this year.  She is improving a lot and we are anxiously awaiting a hit off a real pitcher! She is now swinging, but hasn't quite connected yet.  Hopefully this week.  She can hit off the coach like a pro, so now to step it up a bit.  (After 4 balls the coach pitches until they have 3 strikes or hit.) And this year has been a lot warmer than past years!! YAY!!!

Saturday, May 19, 2012

Well we have been really busy with softball and baseball games which happen every day of the week except Fridays.  Our camera has died once again, and will not charge, 2nd time it has happened since we bought it not even a year ago.  Frustrating! So no picture this time around either.  But there have been a couple of exciting things going on here besides baseball.  We got a puppy and she is sooo cute!  The kids are in love with her and  take good care of her.  Her name if Ruby.
Mothers Day weekend was great! Saturday the activity day girls put on a brunch for the Mothers and Daughters, which was a lot of fun.  I enjoyed spending some time with Brooklyn.  It was a really nice morning. We also went to the Huntsmans to help with the garden that we will be sharing with them this summer, although I am not much help, we are definitely getting the good end of the deal.  We appreciate their offer to share it with them since we will not be having one of our own this summer.  The kids made me a delicious breakfast with waffles, strawberries, whip cream, sausage and wouldn't let me come out of my room until everything was ready.  We went for a walk with Ruby out to the river  which has become our Sunday tradition, it's so fun to see Beckett running with the puppy right behind.
This weekend was the Father Son outing, the boys had fun, but said it was pretty cold. Us girls went to the park with some friends, then out to dinner, and ended the night with some Just Dance on the Wii, (the girls did not me!)
Today we went out to our new place cause Chas wanted to survey and plus its always nice to go out there and take in the peace and quiet.  I had a nice visit with Georgeanna, she is a good woman.  She gave me a Christmas card that my Great Grandma and Grandpa had sent to her Mom and Dad way back when.  My Dad is not even 1 in the picture, so that is pretty cool.  We all loved being out there, the kids just run and play and I got to sit on the porch swing and visit.  We have really been enjoying the beautiful weather and have spent most everyday outside.  I have found that if I don't do too much, I feel pretty good and my sciatic nerve hasn't been bothering me much.  I don't love being on a restricted work schedule, but I guess until this little guy comes I will have to take it a little easier than I am used to.  At the end of the day I am glad that I am not in pain, so it is worth it.  Anyway thats kind of what we have been up to, maybe someday I will add some pictures, but thought that I better write down whats going on before I forget.

moving and such

Well we are all moved, the house is a done deal and we are settling in. Moving has been crazy and poor Beckett has been more than a little displaced. He keeps asking to go home and doesn't want to stay at the Thomsons any longer. Poor little guy, but I think he is finally getting used to it.

One thing about moving, we aren't moving that much junk in 3 months again, so I have been going through everything and gotten rid of a lot, I think Chas has more "stuff" than I do though!!! And I gave him the ultimatum that he better go through and get rid of it or I will. haha! It's motivation for him though.

I am ready to have this baby or at least have him move somewhere so my sciatic nerves are not killing me!! It's a pain in the butt, literally. I can only be up working for a couple of hours before I have to lay down for about an hour so I can walk again. It's killing me. Everyone keeps telling me to take it easy, I can't take it easy for 3 more months!!! So if anyone has any tricks I am totally up for trying anything to see if it will help! I've done massage and chiropractor. The DR. said she could give me some muscle relaxers but they would probably knock me out, but if I am going to be laying on the couch with my kids home, I might as well be awake! Anyway I feel kind of useless and am afraid that moving again in a couple of months is going to be worse, cause I really won't be able to do anything! (ok done venting)

The kids are loving all the space out here, and have been getting pretty good with their sling shots. Brady has made jumps all over the place for his bike and is quite the little trickster. Brooklyn has found "the perfect reading nook" (yep that's how she described it to me) in a tree out in the pasture. Emree has been a good help in the yard and keeping me company outside. Beckett tries to ride his scooter out in the pasture which is hilarious to watch, but he is determined so whatever. While I am doing yard work I give him my dull pair of pruners and he goes to town trying to cut down anything and everything, it keeps him occupied for a long time!

I loved General Conference and once again resolved to try and "be a little better," sometimes I wonder if I will ever get it right. Good thing Heavenly Father is patient and merciful. And is always there to forgive us and help us do better. We are so blessed

Tie Breaker

Well the verdict is in and not only do we have a tie breaker, but a pattern breaker as well!! So excited!

Blessed

I am feeling so blessed today and have been lately for all the Lord has given us. Chas and I were able to go to the temple yesterday and it was a great day. I love Elder Bednar's talk a few years ago that talks about the Lord's tender mercies. I now think of all the little things that happen each day and can remember them with the title of a tender mercy which makes them easier to remember. As we drove to the temple yesterday, the roads were pretty slick, we left early, 7:15 and were planning on getting in the 9:30 session. I called on Thursday to make an appt. they said the session was full, but to come anyway and we could do other work if it ended up being too full. With the roads being bad we were wondering if we would even get there on time, but we pulled in about 9:05, went in, changed and after a lot of shuffling around were actually able to get in the session. The really cool thing about it is that they changed the session to a spanish session as a hispanic man was going for the first time. Chas was able to go through the session in spanish which was pretty cool for him. I always love watching Chas interact with hispanic people you can tell he has a special place in his heart for them.
We are also feeling so blessed as we accepted an offer on our house. The odds of only one person looking and then making an offer seem way too preposterous, but we know how much our Heavenly Father's hand is in our lives and if it is the right thing He will step in and make miraculous things happen. We are just so happy that this goal of ours to move out of town may soon be coming a reality. This scripture describes how I feel: "..and prove me now herewith saith the Lord.., if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing , that there shall not be room enough to receive it." Truly, He is a loving Father.

Basketball

So I coached (is that a word?) Brooklyn's basketball team at school, it was so fun! I really enjoyed playing with the girls and spending time together. Brooklyn did really well and has found her new love (besides reading of course.) She dribbles her ball to school every morning and wishes she could have a game everyday too bad it only lasted six weeks. We had so much fun! As our end of the year bash, we had a pizza party at our house and then took the girls to an EOU women's basketball game. We had a blast!!! Thanks girls for such a fun year!
ps I will try and find some pictures somewhere, but obviously I couldn't take any!

Well I almost can't contain my excitement about the newest in our life so here goes. We got an offer on our house!!! YAY!! Only two people have come and looked since August and the second one (who came last week) put in an offer! Holy COW!! So if everything goes smoothly, we will be moving the first of April.
So in the next six months this is what we will be doing:
-April 1 moving
-April 6 going to Canada to help my Mom and Dad get ready to move
-May 23 Brady's 8th birthday and baptism
-June 25 trip to California for a family reunion
- July welcoming a new baby
-August 1 moving again.
Hope I am ready for all of this.
Bring it on!!!

Christmas Poems

For Christmas Brooklyn wrote me a beautiful poem, made me cry even, that I have been wanting to post on here.
My Mom
My Mom has a bright-light-up-the-day smile.
With eyes Christmas tree green
and is like the ocean-on-a-sun-shiney-day beautiful.

She has a light-up-the-room good attitude
and is honey-on-cinnamon-rolls-sweet.

We lick-the-spoon-clean cook
and she plays the piano-lullabys
and she does the go-the-extra-mile kinda-work.

She makes me feel on-top-of-the-world happy
and has a motherly smile that makes me smile too.

I love you!

What a sweet girl I have! I still shed a few tears everytime I read this sweet sweet poem, I don't know what I would do without her. I love these little glimpses I get into their thoughts. So, so thankful Heavenly Father sent her to me!!

I thought I would post Brady's version of the poem, although this one is to Chas.

My Dad
My Dad has sea blue eyes (should be green, but whatever)
and the greatest smile of all
He has the awesomeness attitude
and he's as sweet as a chocolate chip cookie
He make me feel like I'm on top of the world.
I love you Dad.

Sweet Boy eh? Wait to you hear mine!

My Mom
My Mom has dark brown eyes. (really?have you ever look at them before, I swear they are green)
She's as sweet as a lemon. (should I be offended?)
She has sparkling white teeth (I guess I don't have to worry about getting them bleached!)
She has an awesome smile
and she makes me feel like I'm on top of the world.
I love you Mom.
Phew! at least it ends good! so funny!

Out of place

So I went with Chas to a work banquet last night... interesting. Is was in Baker at the Baker SWCD (Soil & Water Conservation District) winter banquet. So when you hear the word banquet and get the memo of semi formal, I am thinking nice sunday dress right? Wrong. I felt so out of place. Me, yes me of all people, was over dressed, never thought that could happen in a million years. I should have known around here formal to most people means, nice jeans, perhaps a new shirt and your boots all polished up. Holy did I feel dumb, glad we were sitting most of the time so no one could see my high heels, yes I have one pair that I wear once a year to the Anderson Perry Christmas banquet which really is semi formal. Anyway that was one part of the evening.
Since Chas does a lot of irrigation diversions and stream restoration stuff he works with a lot of ranchers. That should have been my number one clue. Anyway you know how on TV you see company parties and everyone is drinking wine and its elegant and that kind of atmosphere? Well I have always pictured that since Chas is an engineer if we ever went to meetings like that that's how it would be. Imagine my surprise when we walk in over dressed and see a whole room full of cowboy hats and everyone is drinking beer. I found it quite hilarious! And smiled to myself throughout the evening just observing our surroundings. I found it ironic that I was the one dressed up, in a sea of boots and jeans. There is no way on this earth I would rather dress up than pull on my boots and wear my comfy jeans, especially when nylons are really squishing my growing belly! Anyway I am sure we stuck out like a sore thumb, now I find it quite hilarious, but last night I wanted to crawl in a hole.
It was a nice evening though once I (kind of) got over myself. Yum, let me tell you if you want to go and have some good Prime Rib, go to a room full of ranchers, it was delish! There were four SWCD's there and each one recognized one person as the conservationist of the year, I found it very interesting how many ranchers are on board with conserving natural resources and that kind of stuff, very cool. All four were ranchers in the area and the have ranches that have been in their families anywhere from 3-6 generations. Pretty awesome!
Sometimes we just have to get outside our comfort zones and that's all it is uncomfortable!

Exciting

OK!! Well I have been trying to add our awesome video we took of the kids last night, but it is not working! So I will just post a picture instead, although I hesitate to cause the video is really great, but here it is. We are all very excited. We all made our predictions and of course the boys want a boy and the girls want a girl. I think Emree is the most excited. All throughout the day today she would randomly yell, "Mom you are going to have a baby, that is so exciting!!" She wanted to go to the store today to get some bottles and some diapers because we (obviously) don't have any here. She is so funny! As soon as we told them her first question was, "Can I feed it?" You betcha!!! Anyway I am all done with the first trimester so hopefully I will start to feel a little better and get some energy back. Due Date: July 27
So yes that means if you are a Hutchins reading this I will be hugely pregnant and hot at our family reunion in June! But am planning on being there!

Prayers

Beckett said his first prayer by himself tonight. Almost made me cry, he is getting too big. I am glad he is the first one up in the morning and comes in our room to snuggle with me in bed for a few minutes before I get up. Can't believe he will be 3in a month!

Snow..... finally!

As soon as we finally got some snow you can bet we were up in the mountains! We had a great day sledding and enjoying the beautiful day! It was the perfect sledding day!

Our sweet Emree

Our sweet little girl turned 5, wow!!! I am so sad she will be going to school this next year!! She is such a sweetheart! She loves to play babies, and is becoming quite the little athlete, don't let her quiet personality trick you, she loves to compete and is very determined to beat anyone she plays against!

Thought this one was funny, the girls had a tea party apparently is was way too much for the boys to handle!
The girls were all smiles!
We always take the birthday child out for lunch on their birthday! Here is our lunch at Denny's!
She loves that she gets hot chocolate every year for her birthday!

And of course birthday pancakes! We love you Emree!!!

Christmas

Well I am finally getting around to posting Christmas, lots of pictures to follow.
The somewhat cleaned up aftermath, so love that we have our stove in the living room!
The one picture of Beckett on Christmas, you know how it is to get pictures of a 2 year old!
I made the older two blankets from their sports t-shirts, they turned out great and even better, they loved them!

Emree so loved the bear, bad thing is a couple minutes later its neck tore open so we took it back and haven't found another one yet!

Our traditional, wait until Dad gets the camera ready before you run in the living room! I tried once again to post a video, but alas no such luck!

Brooklyn or Emree?

Brooklyn or Emree?
Just thought you all might like to see how much Brooklyn and Emree look alike, its kind of scary actually! Especially that Emree wears all the clothes that Brooklyn used to wear, I better make sure I get the right name to the right picture in the scrapbooks...well photo albums anyway. This is Brooklyn when she was 10 months old!

First day of School!

First day of School!

My Pride and Joy!

My Pride and Joy!
Next to my kids this is my pride and joy, I love working in the garden! Chas likes it too, he doesn't have to weed! Actually he always takes care of the kids while I spend time there. It's so nice!

Funny Story 1

Well I haveto share this funny story about Brooklyn. There is a little girl in our primary who got her appendix out shortly after she was baptized and showed Brooklyn her scar, so here is Brooklyn's conversation with me the other day. Brooklyn: "Mom I don't think I want to get baptized." Me: "Why not?" Brook: "It's too scary." And I'm thinking she loves the water, what is the problem? Me: "Whats scary about it?" Brook: "I don't want to go to the hospital and be cut open after I am baptized." I started laughing!!! "You think everyone has to be cut open after they get baptized?" Brook: yes, Jenny did and she even showed me her scar. So I had to explain to her that that was not part of getting baptized, it just happened that it was close to the same time with Jenny. I thought it was so hilarious, you never know what your kids are actually thinking!!

What a handsome boy!

What a handsome boy!

Achoo!

Achoo!
Emree right before a sneeze~
